OSCAR has a fully-featured Measurements tracking system for tracking any kind of measurement data. Examples include vitals (height, weight, BP, O2 sat, BMI, etc.), results from labs (EGFR, etc.), and PHQ9 scores. Any amount of custom measurements can also be created and used in reports, as well as eForms. Measurements are stored in the measurements table. Measurement entries are recorded with their input date and other optional fields. Some values from HL7 lab reports are automatically added to the patient’s measurements (such as A1C), while other remain in the lab data tables.
Checking Past Measurements
To access a list of all the patient’s measurements history, open their eChart and click “Measurements”.
Clicking on “Measurements” will bring up the “Measurements Index” window showing the types of measurements that have been entered for the patient.
Simply click “more…” next to the measurement you want to see.
For example, below is a patient’s weight history.
Deleting a Measurement
If you made an error entering measurement(s), you can select the measurements’ checkboxes on the right and press “Delete”.
Graphing a Measurement
You can view a graph of a measurement by pressing “Graph”.
Recording New Measurements
When you need to input a new measurement (such as vitals), hover over the + next to Measurements and select the input group which you want to add. Custom input groups can be created with custom measurements, etc. but most OSCAR systems come stock with an input group for ‘VITALS’. You can also use the Intake Form to quickly add measurements to a patient from the schedule screen.
Adding New Measurement Types to OSCAR
OSCAR admins can add new measurement types (the types of measurements that can be recorded, like HT, WT, etc.) and customize input groups via Administration. See: Customizing Measurements in OSCAR
